General information only — not financial or tax advice. Confirm tax figures with a registered tax agent.
General information only
Everything Underly shows is general information. It is prepared without regard to your objectives, your financial situation or your needs, because Underly does not ask for them and does not model them. Before acting on anything you read here, consider whether it fits your circumstances, and get advice from someone licensed to give it.
Not financial product advice
Underly does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence and does not provide financial product advice, personal or general. Concretely, Underly will never:
- rank funds, or name a preferred one;
- suggest a transaction, a weighting or a timing;
- describe a position as too large, too small or in need of change;
- project a return, or imply one.
Where Underly flags concentration, it states a threshold and a measured figure — "CBA is 11.4% of your look-through exposure, above the 10% threshold you set". The threshold is yours. The figure is arithmetic. Neither is a judgement about what to do next.
Not tax advice
Underly is not a registered tax agent and does not provide tax agent services. The tax module organises the information already in your AMMA and distribution statements into ATO labels, shows its confidence in each mapping, and asks you to confirm every figure. That is an organising aid, not a return.
Confirm every label with a registered tax agent before you lodge. Where a parsed figure and the reconciled figure disagree, Underly shows both rather than picking one for you.
Source data and its limits
Figures derive from issuer holdings files, ASX reference data and the documents you upload. Holdings files publish on issuer schedules — typically monthly, sometimes with a lag — so a look-through view reflects the most recent published file, not today's portfolio. Every figure carries its source and its as-at date; check both.
Underly organises source data. It does not independently verify it, and a source can be incomplete, stale or wrong.
Past performance
Past distributions and franking rates are historical records of what was paid. They are not indicators of what will be paid. Franked-income figures are arithmetic on your recorded units and the last published rates, not a forecast of your income.
Your decisions are yours
You are responsible for what you do with the information Underly organises, including what you lodge with the ATO. If you need someone to tell you what to do, that person needs a licence Underly does not hold.
